RULES & REGULATIONS
ALL COMPETITORS & SPECTATORS will be deemed to have read and accepted these rules as a condition of their participation on the showground.
UK SHOWING reserves the right to exclude any animal they consider being a danger to spectators and other competitors. Known kickers should wear a red ribbon
UK SHOWING officers, committee or stewards will not accept liability for injury to persons or animals, or loss or damage to property of any persons whilst participating or observing on the show ground. This includes vehicles parked as directed at owner’s risk. All vehicles are to park where and how indicated by car park staff, please be aware that car park staff have the organizers authority to evict from the showground any vehicle that does not comply, the car parkers are there to make sure that all vehicles fit onto the showground in a safe and orderly manner, and should the need arise emergency vehicles have clear access.
Spurs/Dress spurs must not be worn in any show pony/ working hunter pony/ equitation or any mountain and moorland ridden classes.
Hats to the current BSI standard should be worn at all shows affiliated to UK SHOWING with exception to evening performances when Bowlers and Top hats may be worn by competitors, with the exception of lead rein classes. Top hats and bowlers to be worn at their own risk. (In the case of minors only with parental or guardian consent).
Whips: Must not exceed (30"). Excessive use of the whip is forbidden. If a competitor excessively uses the whip in any class will be asked to leave the ring.
All Stallions and 2/3 year old colts must be shown in a suitable bit & bridle
Stallions/Colts may not be LED by any juniors who have not attained their 14 birthday before January 1 in the current year at any show affiliated to UK SHOWING.
Any pony stallion not exceeding 138cms or Small breed Mountain and Moorland stallion i.e. Dart moor, Exmore, Shetland, Welsh A&B may NOT be ridden by juniors who have not attained their 12 birthday before January 1 at any show affiliated to UK SHOWING. Stallions exceeding 138cms or Large Breed Mountain & Moorland stallions i.e. Connemara, Dales, Fells, Highland, New Forest, Welsh section C&D may not be ridden by any juniors who have not attained their 14 birthday before January 1 at any show affiliated to UK SHOWING.
ONLY Mare and Geldings are eligible for Young Handler, Junior, and Lead Rein & First Ridden classes.
Handlers/Riders may only compete with one horse/pony in any one showing/ working hunter/ in hand/ Equitation classes
MEMBERSHIP: A person ceasing for any reason to be a Member of UK Showing shall not be entitled to a refund in whole or in part of any annual subscriptions.
DOPE TESTING
All animals taking part in any classes will be liable to dope testing. Random dope test may be made at any time at any show affiliated to UK SHOWING. The presence of any form of prohibited substances will render both exhibitor and pony/horse liable to disqualification from competing at all future UK SHOWING shows. Test will be run according to Jockey Club Rules.
Horses and Ponies must be 4 years and older in all ridden classes. The age should be calculated from 1 January in the year of their birth.
Riders must have attained their 3 birthday on the day of the show unless otherwise stated.
In first ridden classes ponies must not be cantered except in their individual show. Ponies in Riding Pony, Show Hunter Pony and Mountain and moorland classes may be galloped 4 at a time ONLY except in a championship OR during the Final Judging of a class.
Mountain and Moorland ponies may be trimmed according to breed standards, in order to maintain their breed classifications.
No Horse/Pony may enter the ring after the judging process has begun unless the steward has been informed prior and at the judge’s discretion. The onus is on the competitor to be available for classes when called, failure to do so may result in elimination, it is the responsibility of the competitor to avoid entering classes that may clash and to inform the ring steward if they are going to be late for any class
Back Numbers: It is the responsibly of each competitor to ensure that wear the correct back number for each class. Failure to wear a back number will render the competitor ineligible for the class.
In the event of the rider or handler leaving the ring they MUST be present for the final assessment and presentation of awards. The class is completed when the judges dismisses the class.
Entry Fees: Will NOT be refunded under any circumstances.
HOME PRODUCED SUPREME CHAMPIONSHIP The classes are open to horse and ponies that have been stabled at home since 1st January of the current year. DIY livery is acceptable providing it is not the establishment of a professional show producer/trainer. Horses/ponies entering the home produced Supreme championship must be owned, produced, ridden or led by the owner/spouse or his/her son/daughter/grandchild or relation/friend no monies to have been exchanged or to be exchanged .
♦ It is expected that exhibitors will enter into the true spirit of this competition. The committee reserve the right in their absolute discretion to refuse an Exhibitor’s entry should they be in contravention of these rules in the committee considered opinion.
THE JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL
An exhibitor may not knowingly exhibit an equine that has been breed, sold, leased or produced by the judge or his/her employer.
A rider may not show under a judge whom he/she has produced an equine since 1 January 2007
A rider may not show an equine in a competition judged by any member of his/her immediate family.
Competitors and spectators must obey the instructions of the officials of UK SHOWING at all times whilst on the show ground.
VANDALISM Can all competitors be aware of the escalating vandalism experienced at our recent shows especially the Ladies toilets. We would ask you to respect the venue and the Venue staff. Any damage is charged to UK Showing, which invariably will be passed onto competitors. Any one witnessing deliberate damage or vandalism please report it to any member of the UK Showing or the Venue staff
Crowd Behaviour : UK Showing Committee would like everyone to enjoy themselves for the duration of the show including the evening performance. UK Showing asks that as a spectator you show your appreciation in a respectful and sporting manner. People who conduct over exuberant celebration or behaviour which can interpreted as deliberately trying to upset and unsettle ponies/horses/riders i.e. screaming/shouting etc will be asked to leave the viewing gallery and may be escorted off the showground.
Following any evening performance competitors will be allowed 1 hour to bed their horse/pony. Anyone found to be excessively noisy, unruly, drunk, abusive or generally upsetting other overnight competitors or stabled horse/pony will be escorted off the showground.
CONSIDERATION FOR OTHERS AT ALL TIMES PLEASE.
Riders must keep to the designated working areas and pedestrians to the designated walkways.
Competitors are liable for all veterinary, Farrier and any other expenses if required whilst on the show ground.
Please clear up around your box, DO NOT leave litter or muck. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
A horse/pony may be humanly destroyed in the owners absence if the veterinary surgeon considers that there should be immediate destruction.
Any person found mistreating their livestock or misusing their equipment, in the opinion of the judge or officials of UK SHOWING may result in disqualification of the exhibit and or the exhibitor in question.
UK SHOWING reserves the right, at their absolute discretion, to refuse application for memberships, and Show affiliations.
Any complaint or controversy affecting the show or any other activity must be made in writing to a member of the UK SHOWING committee, accompanied by a fee of £50 to be repaid if the committee rules the complaint is justified.
NO CLAIMS CAN BE ENTERED INTO.
INTERPRETATION OF REGULATIONS
UK SHOWING COMMITTEE reserves to itself the sole absolute to interpret these or any other prescribed regulations, conditions and Schedule, and to finally settle and determine all or any matter, question, difference, in regard thereto or otherwise arising out of, or in connection with any incident in connection with the Show, to substitute Judges for those previously published, or make additional appointments as may be deemed necessary
